[on a saturday night]

[10 Dec 2009|11:55pm]
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
to try and make me change my mind and stay
we never did too much talkin' anyway
so don't think twice, it's all right.

I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
you could have done better, but I don't mind
you just kinda wasted my precious time
but don't think twice, it's all right.

Just finished reading A Freewheelin' Time,
written by the girl with Bob Dylan on the cover of the Freewheelin' album.
No break up will be as rough as that one, for sure.

Finished Julie's birthday present.
Finished making mixtapes
and wrapping Christmas presents as well.
I feel good that I got some things accomplished today.

"This isn't goodbye. It's 'I'll see you later.'"

I want to know why it was so easy for you.
Why it seemed like a speech from a bad movie.
After how we started,
that's not how we should have gone out.

I want so badly to believe that you're right; that I'll be okay.

I was trying to top last year's mixtape,
but I lowered my criteria and decided to at least equal it.
There are just too many factors to consider.
The songs have to blend together
(the end of one has to flow seamlessly into the beginning of the next),
no artist can be repeated twice (given),
they have to have had some real significance to me in the year they represent,
and each side must be exactly 44 minutes, 30 seconds, and change.

[on a saturday night]

[20 Nov 2009|08:53pm]
Sitting in my apartment.
I can hear the fireworks from Light Up night,
but can't see them.
It's far too early for Christmas.

Tino and I finally resolved all of our "tension" last night
(after an entire year of ridiculousness)
and genuinely had a lot of fun at the bar with B and Julie.
Good times.

Going over to Pat's tonight.
I haven't seen him all week.
I'm actually pretty excited.

I have SO much work to do this weekend.
Kind of freaking out.
I figure I can chip away at it a little at a time.
Starting now.

[on a saturday night]

[16 Nov 2009|09:22am]
No facial piercings for the first time since I turned eighteen.

Only three more Mondays (ten hour days of straight class) left.
Then finals week.
Then I'm free, free, FREE.

I need to write a song.
It's been making my bones itch.
